Is the back plate the same? Could just be someone aware that the hatch is a UK import and put a Euro-style plate on the front like so many Euro car owners.

They’ve gone for a U.K. style plate, but gone for a German font rather than the U.K. Charles Wright font.

EDITED: after it was pointed out it’s your car. I edited this reply has it may of come across slightly more critical than meant.

Sorry.

Yeah, you’ve mentioned that font thing I think in my post from last year lol. It’s a pretty dramatic difference, the font.

Sorry, I’ve edited my earlier response as it may of come across more critical than meant.

The German font is more well known amongst car people even though more than half the cars people use for display reference use a picture of a U.K. car.

British car licence plates can vary over time so it can be confusing unless you grew up with them. The fonts have changed a few times over the years, the style of plate has changed from suffix to prefix to the current system, from silver on black background, to black on white for the front and black on yellow for the rear.

So German is usually a safer bet unless you have a French car, then those can be easily sourced if you know what to look for.
